CM Siddaramaiah assures help to train passengers from Mysuru stranded in Balasore

BENGALURU: More than 30 people from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s home district Mysuru are stuck in Balasore, Odisha, where a ghastly train accident on Friday evening claimed more than 280 lives.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah spoke to the stranded group and assure all support from the state. Earlier in the day, he told media persons that he has despatched Labour Minister Santosh Lad to Odisha to extend support to people from the state.

“Such a major railway accident had not occurred in many years. We are in touch with the Odisha government and the railway authorities and have sought information about people from Karnataka”, he said.

“Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has deputed a team led by Minister Santosh Lad to ensure the safety of Kannadigas in Balasore train accident incident. The Chief Minister has sought reports from the Chief Secretary and has directed the officers concerned to visit the spot to ensure the safety of Kannadigas and provide all necessary support to them”, the Chief Minister’s Office tweeted.
