CM Siddaramaiah asks his ministers to be watchful about happenings in departments

BENGALURU: After former chief minister and JD(S) leader hurled charges of corruption in official transfers and even flashed a pen drive claiming to have ‘evidence’, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is learnt to have issued oral instructions to his cabinet minister to personally take a final call on all transfers and postings in their departments.

The ministers are said to have been instructed to take responsibility of all transfers in a bid to check external influence in transfers and postings. The CM himself will only give final approval.

The ministers have been asked to take responsibility for all the happenings in their departments and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is said to have briefed them about it during the previous cabinet meeting when the issue of transfers came up.

The Congress government has found itself in a spot ever since H D Kumaraswamy and the BJP hurled charges of corruption in transfers and the CM has asked his ministers to tread carefully. “Some things may happen without your knowledge and by the time we come to know about it, the issue may have taken a different turn. We have to be wary not the let matters escalate”, Siddaramaiah told him ministers.

The CM also asked his ministers to watch out for external interests and unseen hands and only then take decisions.
