The Class 5 student was asked to clean the toilet as the ayah was busy.

CHIKKABALLAPUR: In the second such incident within a week in the district, a girl student was made to clean the toilet at the government higher primary school at Bynahalli in Chintamani taluk.

The Class 5 student was allegedly asked to clean the toilet as the attendant (ayah) was busy washing vessels. Locals video-recorded the girl cleaning the toilet. “The ayah was washing vessels, so I was asked to clean the toilet and sweep outside”, the girl told some locals on video.

The girl was also made to sweep around the toilet.

After students were made to clean the septic tank in a school in Kolar district, the government had issued strict orders that children should not be used to clean toilets. Despite this, on January 30, girls students were made to clean the toilet at a government school at Kudapakunte in Sidlaghatta taluk.

The Bynahalli case is the lastest in the series of such instances despite the government barring such acts.
