BENGALURU: Occupants of a car, including a child, narrowly escaped death after it crashed into an electricity pole near the Rama Mandir in Rajajinagar late on Sunday night. The impact of the crash was so severe that the car’s front portion was completely mangled.

The accident occurred when the car, travelling from Majestic towards Rama Mandir, lost control and crashed into the Bescom pole on the right side of the road. Fortunately, there were no other vehicles on the road at the time of the accident, and a major disaster was averted.

The police were trying to identify the car’s owner, with registration number KA 02 MJ 0997, who abandoned the vehicle at the scene. The Rajajinagar traffic police are probing the incident to determine the cause of the accident and the identity of the car’s occupants.

Police recovered CCTV footage of the accident which shows that the incident occurred at 12.30 am, and it was a close call for the child. In CCTV footage, a person (presumably the driver) is seen getting out of the car, pulling the child safely and consoling it after the accident.

The accident occurred when the car driver lost control and crashed into the electric pole. The driver suffered a fracture, while an elderly couple sitting in the reat seat suffered minor injuries. Fortunately, no one suffered fatal injuries. The traffic police cleared the road and restored traffic on the road.
