Businessman friend ends life at actress Krishi Thapanda’s house

BENGALURU: Businessman Vaishak (45) committed suicide by hanging at actress Krishi Thapanda’s Elegant Terraces apartment in RR Nagar when she was away on Wednesday night. The police have seized his mobile phone to check if there was any death note or video.

Vaishak owned an automobile business and a garage at Veerabhadra Nagar. He had got married married 15 years ago and has a 14-year-old son. He had a key to the actress’s house. The actress kept one key and businessman Vaishak kept one key. Vaishak used to frequently visit the actress’s house.

“On Wednesday, when Krishi Thapanda was not at home, Vaishak hanged himself to death. When she returned around 12 am, the suicide came to light and she immediately informed the police. No death note was found in the house”, West Division DCP Yathish told Public TV.

Vaishak was suffering from mental depression and was undergoing treatment. He had distanced himself from his family as were repeated fights between the couple. Due to differences with his wife, Vaishak often used to come and stay at actress Krishi’s house. On Wednesday too, Vaishak had come to Krishi’s house for the same reason.

About a week ago, there was a fight between Krishi Thapanda and Vaishak. After that, actress Krishi Tapanda had completely avoided him. Upset by this, Krishi Thapanda had gone to an ashram in Nelamangala. During this time, Vaishak had called Krishi several times, but actress Krishi did not answer the calls.

On Wednesday evening, Vaishak had messaged Krishi that he would be ending his life after which she had informed the police and also his family. She had also convinced him not to commit suicide and Vaishak had even asked Krishi to accompany him to Kukke Subrahmanya temple to which she had agreed.

Vaishak’s wife Meghana has filed a complaint at RR Nagar police station mentioning about Vaishak being at Krishi Thapanda’s house. It is mentioned in the complaint that there is no suspicion on anyone, including Krishi Thapanda. The RR Nagar police have accepted the complaint and registered a UDR case. Post-mortem examination was conducted at Victoria hospital and the last rites were conducted at the Chamarajpet crematorium.

Vaishak was estranged from his wife for the past month and was getting information about his son from his wife through messages. Reportedly, whenever he fought with his wife, Vaishak would go to Krishi Thapanda’s house.Vaishak and his wife were planning to get a divorce.

Krishi Thapanda was earlier in a relationship with businessman Aravind Reddy of AVR Group. In 2024, she broke up with Aravind Reddy and developed a friendship with Vaishak. In 2024, Aravind Reddy received an anonymous letter threatening him to pay up Rs 7 crore and when he dug into the background of the letter, it was revealed that it was sent by Krishi Thapanda and Vaishak.

After that, HAL Police registered a case, arrested Vaishak from Krishi Thapanda’s house. Because of this issue, there were frequent fights between Vaishak and his wife. Vaishak had come out on bail and Krishi and Vaishak had obtained a stay from the court regarding the anonymous letter matter.
