BENGALURU: The Health Department has indicated that bike ambulance services will be restarted in the state. Bike ambulances are very helpful in transporting patients during emergencies, especially in cities like Bengaluru.
Bike ambulance services are already operating successfully in different states and in some cities across the country. This project is being planned with the aim of reducing delays in ambulances reaching due to heavy traffic in metropolitan areas like Bengaluru and in rural areas.

A high-level meeting will be held to thoroughly discuss this project and take a final decision. After reviewing the necessary technical and managerial aspects, the government will implement the project, according to officials.
The health minister, U T Khader, will soon hold a meeting regarding the rollout of bike ambulances. The Health Department is making preparations to reintroduce the bike ambulances to provide emergency medical services in Bengaluru’s traffic congestion. The project had been earlier discontinued in the state.
