Bus knocks down motorcycle, riders survive by skin of their teeth

BELAGAVI: A motorcycle rider and his pillion sustained serious injuries after they were knocked down by a bus coming from behind on the Belagavi-Bagalkot state highway near Sindholli village in the taluk on Thursday afternoon. Luckily, both survived.

Both the rider and his pillion were thrown for some distance.

Dramatic visuals from a CCTV camera at a hotel shows the two motorcycle riders suddenly veering towards the right, oblivious of the bus coming from behind. The bus knocked down the motorcycle and the two riders were thrown some distance due to the impact. While the rider fell by the side of the bus, the pillion rider went under it.

While the rider fell to the side, the pillion rider came under the bus.

The injured motorcycle riders were identified as Subash Bedake and Sudhir Bedake of Basavanakudachi village. The bus was heading to Jamakhandi from Belagavi.
