BENGALURU: The body of an unidentified person, tied in a bag and dumped in an open space, was found in Gangammanagudi police station limits on Friday. Morning walkers who noticed foul smell at K Shivaram Karant Layout, immediately informed the police.
It is suspected that the body was dumped two days ago. Gangammanagudi police officials and senior officers visited and inspected the spot. Northwest division DCP Nagesh visited the spot and collected information about the dead person.
“It seems the body had been there for two to three days. Morning walkers saw it and reported it. It is also said that a dog was dragging the body. The exact cause of death is not known. The SOCO team has conducted an inspection. How the incident occurred will be known after the postmortem. We are examining injury marks”, DCP Nagesh told media persons.
Meanwhile, the Dobbspet police have arrested the accused after the skeletal remains of a missing woman, Yamuna (39), was found at Old Nijagal under Dobbspet police limits in Nelamangala taluk on April 16. The accused was identified as Raghavendra. He was produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.
A missing case for Yamuna had been registered at Kyathsandra police station in Tumakuru. During investigation, police checked CCTV footage and found Yamuna walking with Raghavendra. Based on this, police took the accused into custody in Mysuru.
During interrogation, he confessed to the police, “Earlier she lived with me for five years. So I asked her to come back with me, but she did not agree. Then an argument broke out, and during that I strangled her to death”, he confessed to the police.
