CHIKKAMAGALUR: A Congress leader has been booked for allegedly assaulting the Sringeri Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer Sudeep while while returning after the CM’s programme in Malnad region.
On Saturday, a meeting was held under leadership of Chief Minister D K Shivakumar regarding the Dr Kasturirangan report on the Western Ghats. While returning after completing meeting at Balehonnur, Koppa block Congress president Kukkadige Ravindra allegedly allegedly waylaid the taluk panchayat EO and assaulted him when he came out of hotel after dinner.
The incident occurred near Herur near Balehonnur in N R Pura taluk. The EO Sudeep filed complaint stating that he was assault issued death threats by Kukkudige Ravindra. The injured EO Sudeep underwent treatment at Balehonnur hospital.
Meanwhile, one Nagesh filed a complaint against EO Sudeep alleging that he was assaulted. The Balehonnur police have registered both cases and taken up further investigation.
