BELAGAVI: Actor and entrepreneur Shivaranjan Bolannavar survived an assassination attempt after five rounds were fired at him around 7.30 pm on Tuesday.
Shivaranjan said the attempt on his life was made by some of his own relatives and that he was lucky to have survived without even one bullet hitting him.
Speaking to the media in Bailhongal, Shivaranjan said his own brother and the latter’s nephew had fired five rounds at him, but he luckily escaped. “Such incidents should not happen and should be condemned. The police immediately swung into action and have arrested one person. They have assured that the other person too will be arrested soon”, he said.
Shivaranjan Bolannavar had acted in a few films in the 1990s including ‘Amrutha Sindhu’ and ‘Raja Rani’. He played the lead role opposite Shruthi in ‘Amrutha Sindhu’.
