BENGALURU: Actor Kiran Raj of ‘Ronni’ fame sustained injuries in the chest after his car crashed into a road divider on Tuesday night. He was returning from the Sri Siddeshwara Nirashritara Seva Sangha at Tavarakere on Magadi Road when the accident occurred.
Executive producer Girish was driving the car at that time. Kiran Raj is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital and is said to be out of danger. The accident occurred just a day ahead of the release of the movie ‘Ronni’. The Kengeri traffic police visited the spot and registered a case.
Kiran Raj shot to fame with his role in the ‘Kannadathi’ television serial. Speaking from his hospital bed, Kiran Raj said, “Many people are panicking and messaging me, but there is nothing to worry. I’m completely fine. I had sustained a bit of injury, but the doctors are taking complete care and given treatment. Thanks to all are inquiring about my health”.
Girish, who was driving the car at the time of the accident, told Public TV that they were proceeding to Mysuru after visiting the old age home. “When we were near Muddinapalya, a mongoose suddenly cut across the road. In trying to avoid it, I lost control and hit a divider. I was wearing a seat belt, but I have some pain in the waist. Kiran was in the rear seat and sustained injuries in the chest and face. He is undergoing treatment and is out of danger now”.
