CHITRADURGA: A safai karmachari suffocated to death inside a septic tank in Challakere, Chitradurga district. The incident occurred on December 18 at Raghavendra Kalyana Mantapa and the deceased has been identified as Rangaswamy (48), a resident of Gandhinagar in Challakere.
A complaint was filed in this regard at the Challakere police station on the night of December 23, and it was reported that the worker had drowned in a water tank in the beginning. However, the Safai Karmachari Action Committee filed a complaint with the DC’s office and demanded an investigation.
The issue came to light when Municipal Revenue Inspector Guruprasad inspected the spot. A case has been registered against the owner of the Kalyana Mantapa, Guruveer Nayak.
