KMF to hold talks with CM on milk price hike, to seek Rs 5 more per litre

BENGALURU: The board of the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF), which met here on Thursday to discuss a proposed hike in the price of milk, has decided to lob the ball in Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s court.

The 14 milk unions have unanimously decided to see a Rs 5 per litre hike in the prices of milk and will hold a meeting on July 11, a day after the launch of the Anna Bhagya scheme, to discuss the issue. Based on the CM’s direction, a final decision on the milk price hike will be taken.

Meanwhile, the KMF is all set to take the Nandini brand international with the board clearing plans to set up an outlet in the Al Karama business district in Dubai. This comes amid increasing demand for Nandini range of products.

The first overseas outlet will be opened at Al Karama in August and will be called ‘Nandini Cafe Moo’, a statement said.
