Two boys thrashed with pipe for stealing chocolates from shop in Vijayapura village, owner arrested

VIJAYAPURA: Two boys were brutally thrashed with a pipe for allegedly stealing chocolate from a shop at Malaghan village in Alamela taluk of Vijayapura district. The shop owner Ashok Pattar was arrested after a video of the thrashing went viral and the boys’ father lodged a complaint.

Shop owner Ashok Pattar brutally thrashed two boys — Asif Badegar (10) and Makatumsab Badegar (11) — in the shop with a pipe alleging they stole chocolate last Friday, and the video of the thrashing has now gone viral on social media. As soon as the video of the incident went viral, there was severe outrage condemning the assault on the children.

Based on a complaint given by boy’s father Rahiman Walikar, the accused Ashok Pattar has been arrested and a case has been registered at the Alamela police station.
