The Lokayukta police in Mysuru questioned Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's wife for about three hours on Friday.

BENGALURU: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has found that the land acquisition process in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment was illegal. The ED has written a letter to the Lokayukta ADGP on voilation of land acquisition norms.

The ED has stated that 14 sites allotted to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife Parvathi in the Vijayanagar layout were illegal. The owner of the land, J Devaraju, has been found to be suspicious. The Chief Minister has also been accused of making false statements.

A layout was developed based on a work order and sites were allocated to the beneficiaries. The ED has questioned why sites were not allotted in the 60:40 ratio in Devanur layout, where 352 sites were unallotted. Instead, commercial sites were allotted to Parvathi in Vijayanagar layout, which is against the law.

The ED has found that Siddaramaiah’s son, Yatindra was an MLA and a member of the MUDA board when the sites were allotted. Siddaramaiah was the opposition leader at that time. The ED has also suspected that Dinesh Kumar, a close aide of Siddaramaiah and former MUDA chairman, might have used his influence in the MUDA.
