Bagalur police arrest accused in double murder of bus crew

BENGALURU: The Bagalur police have arrested Suresh, the accused in the double murder case that took place in Bagalur on the outskirts of Bengaluru a couple of days ago. The victims, Nagesh (55) and Manjunath (50), were killed with an iron rod by Suresh, who was under the influence of alcohol.

According to the police, Suresh had previously been convicted of double murder and rape case and had been released from prison after serving a 10-year sentence. He ws released on bail with the help of Duniya Vijay, who provided surety of Rs 3 lakh.

After the release, Suresh started selling corriander leaves in the market to earn a livelihood. Then, he got a job in the Bagalur shed of a private bus operator who is a relative. There, Suresh quarrelled with other workers over selling scrap itmes.

The double murder occurred near Singahalli village in Bangalore North taluk, at the SRS Travels parking shed, where Suresh worked. The victims, Nagesh and Manjunath, also worked at the shed. The police stated that victims were constantly insulting Suresh as a thief and a murderer and he was fed up of it.

On the night of the incident, the victims consumed alcohold, insulted Suresh again and qaurrel broke out between them. In a fit of rage, Suresh killed them with an iron rod. The police have registered a case and are investigating further.
