Scan BBMP QR code to know where you can immerse Ganesha idols

BENGALURU: Ahead of Ganesha Chaturthi celebration, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has come up with a new plan to immerse Ganesha idols using a QR code.

The BBMP has introduced the QR code which people can scan to access information about the nearest immersion points. The Palike has arranged 41 lakes and 462 mobile tanks for immersion. Also, there are 63 single-window centers that have been opened across the city in the BBMP limits.

Permanent/temporary immersion facilities have been set up in 41 lakes and temporary mobile tanks have been facilitated in all wards. Also nodal officers have been appointed for smooth functioning during celebration.

The BBMP has arranged for mobile tanks and Kalyani facilities in the following areas: 138 mobile tanks and a Kalyani in the East zone, 84 mobile tanks and a kalyani in West zone, 43 mobile tanks and 2 Kalyanis in South zone, 40 mobile tanks and 14 Kalyanis in Mahadevpura zone, 19 mobile tanks and a Kalyani in Dasarahalli zone, 60 mobile tanks and 5 Kalyanis in Bommanahalli zone, 74 mobile tanks and 7 Kalyanis in RR Nagar zone, 74 mobile tanks and 10 kalyanis in Yelahanka zone.
