BENGALURU: The Health Department is planning to introduce hi-tech ambulances as there were lots of complaints against the GVK organisation which has been running the 108 ambulance service in the state so far. The new advanced ambulance are expected to arrive in three months.

A host of problems were attributed to the GVK ambulance service earlier. There were several complaints over the poor service whereas it was supposed to focus on saving lives during emergencies. Thus, a committee has been formed to work out the details of introducing a new hi-tech ambulance after dropping GVK’s services in the state. The final plan is also ready for the new features with which the ambulances will come equipped.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said, “Providing better service for patients is our concern. Advanced technology will be used in the hi-tech ambulance, for monitoring patient health status and saving the lives of accident victims in the golden hour. The department plans to develop a system wherein doctors in hospitals are informed before the patient is admitted so that the staff can make arrangements. Once the technical team has finalised the design of the ambulance, it will be get approved. But it will take at least two months”.
