BENGALURU: Medical Education, Skill Development and Livelihood Minister Sharan Prakash Patil on Monday visited Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College and Research Institute (Bowring Hospital) at Shivajinagar in the city. The minister collected information regarding the new ten-storey super-specialty hospital that would come up after the demolition of existing Bowring Hospital.
The minister visited the Dengue ward and interacted with the patients and enquired about the treatment and the facilities in the hospital.
Addressing the media personnel after visiting the hospital, Patil said that the new super-specialty hospital will be dedicated to the nation at the earliest. “The new Bowring Hospital will be a 500-bed super speciality facility for the needy and poor. The government is taking steps to open the hospital at the earliest”, he said.
Accompanied by Shivajinagar MLA Rizwan Arshad and senior officials, Patil took a walk on the streets in the area including Russel Market to reach Charaka super-speciality hospital run by Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College.
“Charaka super-specialty hospital will be thrown open to the public next month by the chief minister. This hospital will provide all kind of treatments including cardiac, neuro and nephrology. BPL cardholders will get free health service”, Patil stated.
