BENGALURU: After the 10 years, the Bangalore University will finally announce results of 110 candidates who wrote the examination in 2013. According to the committee which was formed to investigating the case six months ago, the university will announce the results by Saturday evening or Sunday morning.

For 10 years, the results of 95 undergraduate and 15 post-graduate students of a college in Magadi had not been announced as the answer scripts had gone missing. At a college in Channapatna, there was some technical issue which has been resolved and the results announced, said Dr Srinivas, Registrar (Evaluation) Bangalore University.

He said a syndicate sub-committee was formed, headed by syndicate member Prof T V Raju, to investigating the case. The committee submitted a detailed report after a complete probe and had also consulted the students whose answer scripts had gone missing.

The university has now decided to allot marks by calculating the average score in the previous semester examinations. Initially, the students had staged protest over the missing answer scripts and delay in announcing their results. But, later on, most of the students had stopped pursuing the matter.

Dr Srinivas, Registrar (Evaluation) of Bangalore University said the results will be announced soon.

Clarifying about answer scripts going missing and delay in announcement of results, Dr Srinivas said, “The syndicate committee has taken some decisions so that such instances do not recur and it should not affect students’ further education”.

Regarding ongoing and future exams, he said, “A custodian from our section and an assistant custodian at the college will verify the the answer script bundles that are received, and entries will be made in the ledger. For the BEd exams which started on Friday, a clerk from our section was assigned. He will be present along with the custodian when receiving the answer scripts. These will be checked then and there and if there are any problems, we will inform the college”, he added.
