KALABURAGI: A police constable attached to the Mahagaon police station in Kalaburagi has been suspended over allegation of drinking beer on top of a mosque while on duty.
Hanamanth, a constable of Mahagaon police station in Kamalapur taluk, had been deputed for bandobast in the background of a clash in Harasur village. Villagers had recorded a video of the policeman drinking beer while standing on the roof of the mosque while on duty and shared it on social media.
After it was established that the constable indeed consumed alcohol while on duty, Police Superintendent Adduru Srinivasulu has ordered his suspension.
