HUBBALLI: A Hindu youth was allegedly assaulted for helping a Muslim girl in the Settlement area of Hubballi on Friday afternoon.
The youth, Pramod Bijawad, was assaulted when he was going to get a Muslim girl admitted to a hostel.It is alleged that people from the Muslim community gathered in a group and assaulted him.
The injured youth has been admitted to KIMS Hospital. Deputy Commissioner of Police Shruti visited the hospital and inquired about the victim. The incident occurred in the jurisdiction of the Town police station.
