BELAGAVI: The Belagavi-Goa highway turned into a slushy field, leaving passengers stranded in the middle of the road after a NWKRTC bus got stuck right in the middle of the road near Varakada village in Belagavi district.

Passengers expressed anger over the poor condition of the road. On a road connecting two states, vehicles were submerged in slush, disrupting traffic. After the bus got stuck in the slush, the driver asked passengers to get down and tried to pull the bus out.

After struggling for two continuous hours, the bus was finally pulled out of the slush. Until the two-hour operation was completed, passengers were forced to stand outside. Even though hundreds of vehicles use this road daily, officials have been accused of negligence in developing the road. Locals have warned that they will launch an intense protest if the road is not repaired soon.
