BENGALURU: Three people, including a minor, were arrested by the Suryanagar police within 24 hours for attempting to rob a lorry driver after intercepting the vehicle near Marasur Gate on the Chandapura–Anekal main road. The stolen lorry has been recovered and an autorickshaw used for the crime has also been seized.

The arrested are Sharath Kumar (23), a resident of Sompura, Sarjapur, Roopesh (26), a resident of Karpuru, Anekal taluk, and a juvenile in conflict with law. Sharath Kumar was an auto driver.

The accused, heavily drunk, had hatched a plan to commit robbery and intercepted a lorry near Marasuru on the Chandapura–Anekal main road and assaulted the driver. As the driver ran away, the accused took away the lorry. They plotted that the lorry would be traced via GPS and planned to demand money when the owners came looking for the lorry.
