KOLAR: A school teacher was seriously injured after a part of the plastering of a government school’s ceiling fell on her. The teacher, Yashoda, sustained injuries to her head and hand due to the ceiling collapse.
The incident took place at the Old Secondary School in Kolar city on Monday afternoon. Yashodha received treatment at a hospital and is currently at home. The school building had been repaired recently at a cost of Rs 25 lakh, yet the plastering of the classroom ceiling collapsed. Fortunately, the children escaped the mishap and only the teacher was injured.
Parents have expressed their displeasure over the poor condition of the government school right at the start when children returned to school after the holidays. They said this is a clear reflection of the mismanagement in government schools.
