BENGALURU: Following a Public TV report on idle fire service vehicles, the Karnataka State Fire and Emergency Services Department was nudged into action. The department has cleaned up and deployed the idle fire vehicles to various fire stations.
The fire vehicles meant for state fire stations were lying idle and dusty at the Mundkur Fire and Emergency Services Academy on Bannerghatta Road. Public TV reported on this issue on December 22.

After the report, the department cleaned the vehicles and is preparing to deploy them to various fire stations, said Eshwar Naik.
“The tender process delay hindered deployment of vehicles to district and taluk fire stations. Thirty vehicles have been deployed, and 27 more are being prepared for deployment. Vehicles previously unused due to lack of official initiative are now ready for operation”, he said.
