BENGALURU: A heavily intoxicated driver crashed his car into a barricade and injured a police officer’s leg near Jyothi Nivas College in Koramangala in the wee hours on Sunday.
The driver, identified as Nanda Krishna, was driving under the influence of alcohol. The incident occurred when he was driving in the wrong direction along a one-way street. When police tried to stop him, he attempted to drive over them. As a result, he hit a barricade, injuring the policeman’s leg. A car parked ahead of him was also damaged.

The driver refused to get out of the car or open the window, behaving obstinately. Eventually, the police broke the car window and took the driver into custody.
A case has been registered at the Adugodi traffic police station.
