MANDYA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit the historic Adichunchanagiri math at Nagamangala in Mandya district on Wednesday. The math, which is around 1,800 years old, is renowned for its tri-dasoha and is getting ready for the PM’s visit.
The Prime Minister will inaugurate the Guru Bhairavaikya Temple, built at a cost of Rs 80 crore in memory of Dr Sri Balagangadharanatha Swamiji. PM Modi will arrive at HAL airport in Bengaluru at 11 am and fly to Adichunchanagiri by helicopter.
Upon landing at Tapovana, he will visit the Jwalapeetha and Kala Bhairaveshwara Swami temple, offering prayers and performing mangalarati. After the inauguration, PM Modi will attend a public meeting at Adichunchanagiri Sports Stadium, accompanied by dignitaries like former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy, Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, and Minister Cheluvarayaswamy.
He will address the gathering and then return to Bengaluru by helicopter. Security arrangements are tight, with SPG and police forces deployed across Adichunchanagiri. Around one lakh people are expected to attend the event, and a large German tent has been set up to accommodate the crowds.
The atmosphere is festive, with the temple and surrounding areas decorated in preparation for PM Modi’s visit.
