CHITRADURGA: Two people died and two others were seriously injured after two lorries collided head-on near Kalkunte village in Chitradurga district on Tuesday.
The accident occurred when a lorry travelling from Chitradurga to Davanagere jumped the divider and collided with another lorry heading from Davanagere to Chitradurga. The victims, identified as Mahantesh (35) from Kaggalagatta village in Hosadurga taluk and Himmat Singh from Haryana, died on the spot.
Two others were seriously injured and are undergoing treatment at the district hospital. Police have visited the scene and launched an investigation. The incident occurred under Bharamasagara police station limits.
