HASSAN: A food delivery agent died on the spot while another individual was seriously injured after two motorcycles collided on the bypass road near National Highway-76 close to Boovanahalli on the outskirts of the city around 11 pm on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Sharat (40), a resident of SBM Layout, who was working with Zomato. He was on his way from Hassan city to Gendegatte to deliver a food package when the accident occurred.
Sharat was turning towards the national highway when another motorcycle coming from the direction of Bengaluru crashed into his motorcycle. Sharat was not wearing a helment and he died on the spot due to excessive bleeding. The other injured motorcycle rider was admitted to HIMS hospital.
Sharat hailed from Muttathi village. The traffic police visited the spot and have taken up further investigation after registering a case.
