Youth kills his live-in partner for forcing him to get marry her

BENGALURU: The city police have arrested a man for murdering his 27-year-old live-in partner at Singasandra in on December 7 for alleged forcing him to marry her. He tried to make it look like a suicide, but the post-mortem examination revealed that she was murdered.

The incident occurred in Parappana police limits. The accused is Prashant and his live-in partner is Sunita alias Deepu. They were in a relationship for four years.

According to police sources, the accused promised her that he would marry after his sister got married, but he did not keep his promise. On the night of December 6, an argument ensued between Prashant and Sunita, which led to her murder.

Prashanth allegedly killed Sunita by kneeling on her throat, causing compression asphyxia, and then slitting her neck with a sharp object. Then, he hung her to make it look like suicide. Later, he himself carried her to a private hospital and and even behaved normally.

After the post-mortem report revealed the cause of death, the police called him for questioning and later arrested him.
