MYSURU: A youth who had written a song in praise of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was allegedly assaulted by another group which forced him to raise slogans in favour of Pakistan and Allah. The group tore his clothes and also threatened to kill him.

The victim Rohit Raman said, “Last week, I had released a song on PM Modi on social media and had shared with friends and colleagues. I was sitting near the Government Guest House when a youth approached me. I didn’t know he was a Muslim, I asked him to view the song and subscribe to my channel and share it with his friends”.

“On seeing the video, he said it was good and took me to his friends who abused me in foul language for composing a song on Modi. They then forced me to say ‘Pakistan zindabad’ and to say ‘Allah hu Akbar’. They threatened to kill me if I did not raise the slogans”, Rohit claimed.

Further, Rohit said the group of youths took a photo of Lord Sri Ram and a flag which was with him and urinated on them. “They even poured beer on my head, urinated on me and assaulted me. They cut my hand with the beer bottle and burnt me with cigarettes”. He was later taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries by the police. He has since lodged a complaint with the Lakshmipuram police.

Reacting to the incident, Krishnaraja MLA V Srivatsa said, “The youth had met me three days ago and I had seen the song and released, it had come out well. It highlights why Modi should become PM for a third term. I condemn the attack on the youth and I have spoken to the DCP. Such an incident should not have happened.”
