The case was filed against Darshan for allegedly insulting women.

BENGALURU: In fresh trouble for actor Darshan, a women’s organisation has lodged a complaint against him with the state women’s commission for his ‘objectionable’ remarks against women during the 25 years celebration of his entry into Kannada films at Srirangapatna recently.

Jayashree of the Gowdathiyara Sene has approached the women’s commission against Darshan for his remark ‘Ivathu ivalu irthale, naale avalu barthale (losely translated to ‘today, it’s her, tomorrow it’s another) at the event, terming it as derogatory.

The complainant contended that the remark is a public insult to women and questioned the propriety of a responsible actor making such remarks. A group of women who had gone to the women’s commission also raised slogans against the actor.
