BAGALKOT: In a major embarassment for Opposition leader Siddaramaiah, a woman to whom he had given some money as
relief, threw the wad of notes at his car as he was leaving and said all that they want is peace.

Siddaramaiah on Friday met the families of Mohammed Hanif, Dawal Malik, Rajasab and Rafiq, who had sustained injuries in a
group clash at Kerur some days ago and are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bagalkot. He also gave them Rs 2 lakh as relief.

But as Siddaramaiah was leaving the hospital, Rajma, one of the affected women, threw the money at his car saying that they only want to live in peace. She was joined by another woman, Bismilla.

After the Kerur clash on July 6, a dhaba and a house were targeted on July 8 at Kulageri Cross in Badami taluk, in which five
Muslims sustained injuries.

Siddaramaiah, who represents Bagalkot constituency, had planned to visit all the injured in hospital. However, the Hindu families refused to meet him and he cancelled the visit at the last moment. The Hindu families had even called up the SP and told him that they do not want to meet Siddaramaiah.

In the Kerur clash, Hindu Jagaran Vedike district secretary Arun Kattimani, Lakshman Kattimani, Yamanur Chungina and Gopal had sustained stab injuries.
