RAMANAGARA: A woman killed her one-year-and-six-month-old son by throwing him in a river, at Kalikere village in Channapatna taluk on Tuesday night. However, the motive for her action is yet to be ascertained.
The child was the son of couple Bhagya and Srinivas and for the last two years, she had been living in her parental home. On Tuesday night, she threw the child in the Kanva river near Kondapura. When the family members started looking for the child early today morning, Bhagya revealed that she had drowned him in the river, but did not say why she committed the act.
The villagers then fished out the body of the child from the river today morning. The Akkur police have registered a case and are investigating.
