HASSAN: One woman died, seven people sustained serious injuries while over 20 others sustained minor injuries after the private bus they were travelling in fell into a gorge after the driver lost control near Kaske Bayalu village in Belur taluk on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Surekha (45), a resident of KR Pura in Bengaluru. She was part of a group of 25 people from KR Pura and 25 from Rajanukunte, including children, who were on their way to Horanadu, Dharmastala, Kukke Subrahmanya and Sringeri.
All the injured were shifted to hospitals in Belur and Hassan in seven ambulances. The Belur police visited the spot and registered a case.
