HAVERI: A man hacked to death his sister-in-law and her two children following a property dispute with his elder brother, at Yallur village in Hanagal taluk in the wee hours on Saturday. The accused is since absconding.
The deceased were identified as Geetha Marigoudru (32), Akul (10) and Ankita (7). Geetha’s husband Honnegouda is working in Dubai. As per preliminary information, the accused Kumargouda Marigoudru (35) had a dispute with Honnegouda over a commercial complex and business.
Superintendent of Police Dr Shivakumar, who visited the spot, told reporters, “Kumargouda killed his brother’s wife and children between 2.30 am and 3 am and is since missing. The elder brother is working in Dubai. We have formed a special team to nab the accused. Honnegouda’s aged mother Kamalavva, who is short of hearing, informed her neighbours who shifted Geetha and the children to hospital. Geetha was still breathing at that time. The boy had died at the spot, but the mother and daughter died in hospital”.
