BENGALURU: A man allegedly killed his wife and strung her up from a ceiling fan to make it look like a suicide, at their house in Yelahanka satellite town. It is suspected that he murdered her over dowry demands.

Rekha and Santhosh were in love for four years since their college days and had got married one-and-half-years ago after convincing their familes. The couple now have a six-month-old girl child. Hailing from Tamil Nadu, they had moved to Yelahanka after their marriage.

Santhosh allegedly used to harass Rekha claiming that her parents would gift him a site as dowry. She was found hanging in their house on Wednesday. Her parents alleged that he may have strangulated her and then hung her to make it look like a suicide.

After the parents alleged murder, the Yelahanka New Town police have arrested Santhosh and are questioning him.
