BENGALURU: A housewife committed suicide, allegedly due to harassment for dowry, in Varthur police limits.
Madhuri (26) was married to Guruprasad in 2016, but she was allegedly continuously harassed and assaulted over dowry. On January 26, she consumed some acidic substance which was brought for some experiment and was rushed to a private hospital. However, she did not respond to treatment and died on Tuesday.
Madhuri’s family has accused Guruprasad and his family of murdering Madhuri. The Varthur police have registered a case and taken up further investigation.
