YADGIR: A woman gave birth to a baby in a 108 ambulance while being taken to hospital, thanks to the presence of mind of the paramedical staff, on the outskirts of the Surpur in the district on Tuesday.
Guramma from Hemmadagi village of Surpur taluk was being shifted to hospital when, midway, she went into labour. At that time, the emergency medical technician (EMT) in the ambulance, Parashurama and Basavaraj, performed a safe delivery.
The mother and the infant are doing well and have been admitted the Surpur taluk hospital for further care.
