MANDYA: Two groups clashed over fixing ginger prices near the Ontangadi junction in Abhyat Mangala under Valnur-Thyagattur village panchayat of Kodagu district on Tuesday. In the melee, some miscreants among group attempted to set fire to a car.
A scuffle broke out between some traders from Hassan and the traders of Kondageri village over the ginger price issue and it turned to a fight. Amid the clash, the Kondageri group tried to set fire to a car belonging to a trader from Hassan.
On receiving information, the police rushed to the spot and averted any further escalation of the situation. A case has been registered at the Madikeri Rural police station.
