BENGALURU: A woman musician, who was flying to Ahmedabad from the Kempegowda International Airport, on Tuesday evening alleged that she was ‘humiliated’ during the security checks after she was asked to take off her shirt and “forced to stand wearing just a camisole”.
In a tweet, she said, “I was asked to remove by shirt at Bengaluru airport during security check. It was really humiliating to stand there at the security checkpoint wearing just a camisole and getting the kind of attention you’d never want as a woman. @BLRAirport Why would you need a woman to strip?”
The airport authorities had even responded to her tweet expressing regret and promised to look into the issue.
However, after her tweet began going viral, the woman has reportedly deleted the tweet and deactivated her account on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has denied the allegations and is planning to take legal action against her. The CISF said the femal staff only asked her to remove her denim jacket behind a curtain, as per the rules. After the checks, the female staff offered to bring her jacket, but she stepped out herself saying that she was comfortable.
