HASSAN: A leopard which had strayed near a farmhouse on the outskirts Javagal of Arasikere taluk on Sunday was chased away by a woman who made noises by screaming at banging.
The leopard was spotted outside the farmhouse of one Indresh around 8.30 pm on Sunday on the Nerlige-Kadur road just outside Javagal. On spotting the leopard outside their house, one of the women in the house made some banging sounds and yelled.
On hearing the sounds, the panicked leopard beat a hasty retreat. The entire incident was captured on a mobile phone. The residents of the farmhouse and the village have appealed to the Forest Department to capture the leopard and relocate it.
