BENGALURU: Though the white-topping work has been completed in Majestic area, the incomplete footpaths have been affecting traffic flow and pedestrians too are finding it difficult.

The white-topping work in Majestic area was taken up by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) for the last three to four months. While the road work has been completed, the footpath work is still going on. Due to this, motorists and pedestrians alike are having a tough time.

An incomplete footpath from the past few months has been blocking traffic in Majestic.

The white topping work has been done from Gubbi Thotadappa Road to Shantala Circle and to Sangolli Rayanna Circle. From November 19 to December 18 last year, the work was taken up on about 580 metre stretch of the road. Citizens have expressed outrage over the delay as the incomplete works could cause accidents and motorists and pedestrians have urging the authorities concerned to resolve the traffic issues at the earliest.

“There is heavy traffic on this road and work has been going on for the past four to five months. Every day, face problems on this road and the traffic police are also bearing the brunt”, said Punye Gowda, an autorickshaw driver.

“The police do not act to clear traffic on the road. It is very difficult to walk. If an accident occurs, who will take responsibility? For the past four to five months, the work has been going on”, said Seetharama, a local.
