VIJAYAPURA: A student of the Morarji Desai Residential School at Ghalapuji in Muddebihal taluk sustained serious burn injuries after a fire broke out at the school dormitory on Monday night. Two other students also sustained burns.
The fire broke out in a dormitory in which 14 students were present after an electrical short circuit. While Sagar, Samarth and Mallikarjun sustained burns, the others luckily escaped.
This is the second mishap in the school which was inaugurated only six months ago. Social Welfare Department officer Umesh Lamani visited the school and conducted inquiries. Meanwhile, parents have blamed the negligence of the school authorities for the incident.
