Water level at KRS drops to 99 feet, storage now only 22 tmcft

MANDYA: The water level at the Krishna Raja Sagara (KRS) dam has dropped to 99 feet, and farmers are worried about reducing water level in the dam.

The water level was 101.78 feet on Tuesday night, and it dropped to 99.86 feet today as the state government is releasing water to Tamil Nadu since last Tuesday night.

The quantum of stored water also dropped to 22 tmcft from 24.075 tmcft on Tuesday night. Today, there is only 22.7 tmcft of water in the dam and about 2 tmcft of water has been let out in just four days. Water is being released at the rate of 7,078 cusecs to Tamil Nadu.
