GADAG: Villagers of Jantlishiroor in Mundargi taluk were foxed by the regular theft of drip irrigation pipes, borewell power cables and pumpsents. They decided to lay in wait and catch the thieves.
On Thursday, they caught hold of a tractor loaded with stolen drip irrigation pipes and electric cables. However, the gang of eight thieves managed to escape, leaving behind the tractor.
The villagers informed the Mundargi police and demanded the immediate arrest of the thieves.
