Dr M Leelavathi had founded a small primary health centre about 10 years ago. Her son and actor Vinod Raj sold their property in Chennai to fulfill his mother’s wish of having a better equipped health facility. He has now built a well-equipped hospital with all amenities and laboratory equipment at a cost of around Rs 1.20 crore.

Actor Vinod Raj speaks to the media in front of the newly built primary health centre.

“The aim is to provide good healthcare facilities to rural people. The hospital has a well-equipped laboratory and we will hand over the health centre to the Health Department. The health centre will be inaugurated soon. Around 15-20 villages will benefit from this. With my mother’s hard work and divine blessings, we could build this, “said Leelavathi’s son and actor Vinod Raj.
