The Veeragase artist stumbled in the coal pit and sustained injuries.

MANDYA: A Veeragase artist sustained burn injuries after he had a fall while running over coal during a ritual at Hulaganahalli in Maddur taluk, on Thursday. He has since been admitted to hospital for treatment of injuries.

The Basaveshwara temple fair was held at the village over the last two days and the a ritual of running over burning coal was organised as part of fair on Thursday. While running over the burning coal, one Veeragase artist slipped and fell in the pit and sustained injuries.

The artist has since been admitted the Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences for treatment.
