Vande Bharat Express train undertakes trial run on Sakleshpur route

HASSAN: Vande Bharat Express train arrived in Hassan district on Wednesday for a trial run and MLA Cement Manju performed puja by breaking a coconut to welcome the train at Sakleshpur railway station.

From as early as 6 am on Wednesday, people were waiting at Sakleshpur railway station to welcome the Vande Bharat Express train. Officials performed puja for the Vande Bharat Express train before the trial run.

The trial runs of the Vande Bharat Express train was conducted from 6.30 am on and 3 pm between Sakleshpur and Subrahmanya on Wednesday. After conducting six trial runs on the route with about 57 tunnels through the steep hills and mountains of the Western Ghats, any deficiencies will be corrected. Then the train will operate between Bengaluru and Mangaluru.

The electrification work has already been completed, and the Vande Bharat Express train will soon be available for public service. Local MLA Cement Manju had met Minister of State for Railways, V Somanna, and requested that steps be taken to operate the Vande Bharat train on the Sakleshpur route.

The 20-coach Vande Bharat Express train can accommodate 1,080 passengers. Passengers travelling between Bengaluru and Mangaluru will get a high-speed train facility. This will fulfill the long-cherished dream of the people of Hassan district.
